You are guaranteed that whatever mobile signal is available outside your house will be easily available within. In the case of a broadband outage you can then easily hotspot your phone and its Wi-Fi to finish your work.
As an example, if there is a perfect 3G signal outside your house—but no satisfactory signal inside—a Quad Band device will take care of it.
