The cell tower sends and receives signals within a general area.
An outside antenna captures the signal, the signal booster amplifies the signal’s strength, then indoor antenna(s) send the improved signal to your phone.
The call, text, 4G LTE and 5G data signal returns to the tower by following the same process in reverse.
4G has a 20-50ms approx. signal delay, whereas 5G can have as little as a 1ms delay.
4G has around 20-50 millisecond signal delay whereas 5G can have as little as 1 millisecond delay.
Bandwidth can be imagined as the amount of parallel data streams. The more streams available, the more each user can access their data at the same time. The massive bandwidth of 5G allows it to handle the heavy data demands of today.
